Dianna Hobbs’ Official Statement: Understanding the USAID Transition and Its Impact on Empowering Everyday Women’s Global Humanitarian Efforts

Dear Empowering Everyday Women Family,

I'm writing to you today about a critical development in global humanitarian aid that has many of you concerned: the recent dismantling of USAID.

For those who may not be familiar, USAID (United States Agency for International Development) has been the primary federal agency responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance since 1961. For decades, it has been a cornerstone of U.S. humanitarian efforts worldwide, providing critical support in areas like disaster relief, economic development, global health, and humanitarian assistance to millions of people in developing countries.

The recent decision to significantly reduce or potentially shut down USAID represents a profound shift in how the United States approaches global humanitarian aid. This is not just a bureaucratic change — it's a decision that could dramatically impact vulnerable communities around the world who have relied on U.S. assistance for critical needs like food security, medical care, education, and economic development.

First and foremost, I want to be absolutely clear: This change does not impact Empowering Everyday Women Ministries. We have always operated with complete independence, receiving zero federal funding. Our strength has never come from government support, but from something far more powerful — our faith, our community, and our shared commitment to making a difference.

While the future of global humanitarian aid looks uncertain, our mission remains unchanged. We don't wait for governmental approvals or funding. We respond to the call of service, guided by our faith and our commitment to empowering women around the world.

What does the USAID situation mean for humanitarian efforts? It means that organizations like ours — faith-based, mission-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofits — become even more critical. When governmental aid recedes, we must step forward with even greater resolve.

I am calling on each of you — our donors, our supporters, our family — to stand with us. Your support is more critical now than ever before. When global aid systems change, it is compassionate individuals and faith-driven organizations that become the lifeline for countless women, children, and individuals in need, seeking hope, opportunity, and transformation.

Your donations are more than financial contributions. They are prayers made tangible. They are hope transformed into action. They are the hands and feet of Christ working in the world.

In this moment of uncertainty, I am reminded of Proverbs 19:17: "Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done." Today, I invite you to be a vessel of God's love, kindness and grace, always trusting in His promise of blessing and provision.

With your support, we will continue to move forward. We will continue to empower. We will continue to make a difference.

With unwavering faith and deep gratitude,
