Outreach for recovering addicts, domestic abuse survivors, and formerly incarcerated women

More than 150 recovering addicts, survivors of domestic abuse, and formerly incarcerated women, received ministry services, resources, and gifts from Dianna Hobbs, Empowering Everyday Women, and City Church Buffalo.

“The turnout was astounding,” said a Mary Davis, a ministry rep. Hobbs believes Christian nonprofit organizations and ministries should do something to consistently impact the community in positive ways.

“Seeing those in recovery and transition, who have been in survival mode most of their lives, receive the help, love, and tangible support they need, was a thing of beauty,” said Davis, adding, “There were women of different races, ethnicities and backgrounds witnessing firsthand what real ministry looks like. That’s something Dianna Hobbs is passionate about, and the overwhelming support of the event says others are equally passionate about that cause as well.”

The Women’s Weekend, which took place Saturday and Sunday, May 25th-26th, in Buffalo, NY, was themed “Women Helping Women,” based on 1 Peter 4:10: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

Hobbs is a well-known ambassador of women and a generous philanthropist who has been working to pull the Women’s Weekend together since 2018. “What took place exceeded everyone’s expectations,” said the ministry rep. “Most importantly, God was glorified and His people were edified.”
