Empowering Everyday Women, Inc. is ramping up its COVID-19 hunger relief efforts to help meet the overwhelming need for food assistance during the Thanksgiving holiday.

Annually, EEW Inc. donates food and financial resources to feed hundreds of families in and around Western New York and abroad that are struggling with food insecurity. All donations, which are fully tax-deductible, that are made to our organization now through Nov. 25, 2020 will go toward our Thanksgiving hunger relief efforts in support of families fighting food insecurity.

“Buffalo, NY, where our ministry is headquartered, has the third highest unemployment rate in New York State, and many families don’t know how they will put food on the table this holiday season,” said Dianna Hobbs, founder and CEO of Empowering Everyday Women Ministries, Inc., whose ministry places special focus on charity and giving to those in need.

“Statistics show that, nationwide, more than 54 million people –18 million children among them – are expected to experience food insecurity because of COVID-19, and we can’t stand by and do nothing,” she said.

Since the pandemic began, our team has poured resources into food banks that are having difficulty meeting the increased demand from individuals in need of food and resources for the first time amid a worsening pandemic. Many food banks across the United States are under water and do not have enough supplies. Food shortages mean community residents go hungry – something our organization is working with its donors and supporters to prevent.

“We are grateful to our supportive partners and donors for their help in providing food to those who need it most,” said Erica Hall, director of distribution for Empowering Everyday Women, Inc. “Those who are connected to this ministry have consistently been there when we call upon them and are once again upholding the tradition of giving generously to families struggling to make ends meet around the holiday season. And we are calling upon them again.”

Empowering Everyday Women’s donations are a continuation of a longstanding commitment to fighting hunger and responding to community needs in a time of crisis.

“We pray that the food and donations will put a smile on the faces of hundreds of families in need,” added Hobbs. “I am asking everyone that can to join with us by donating to make a difference.”
